The RF transmission lines use a coplanar waveguide (CPWG) model. These RF transmission lines have a trace width of 14mil, ground clearance of 5mil, and provide a characteristic impedance of 50Ω. For optimal RF and thermal grounding, as many plated through-hole vias as possible are arranged around transmission lines and under the exposed pad of the package. The RF input and output ports are connected through the 50Ω transmission lines to the 2.4mm RF launchers. A through-calibration line (TRL) connects the unpopulated J6 and J7 launchers. The TRL is used to estimate the loss of the PCB over the environmental conditions being evaluated.
