Analog Devices Inc. CN0533 Circuit Evaluation Board (EVAL-CN0533-EBZ)
Analog Devices Inc. CN0533 Circuit Evaluation Board (EVAL-CN0533-EBZ) is a reference design for a MEMS accelerometer-based vibration sensing solution with included analog 4mA to 20mA current loop interface circuitry, suitable for Condition-based Monitoring (CbM) applications. The 4mA to 20mA current loop is an industry analog signaling standard. The main advantage of this signal standard is that there exists virtually no attenuation over long cables, therefore more robustness in EMI prone environments, such as industrial and factory settings. This reference design enables the utilization of high bandwidth, ultralow noise MEMS accelerometers on a legacy 4mA to 20mA data acquisition (DAQ) systems for CbM applications. The EVAL-CN0533-EBZ is based on the ADXL1002 MEMS Accelerometer. The ADXL1002 provides superior performance in temperature sensitivity, DC to low-frequency response, phase response, shock tolerance, and recovery, with the noise level and bandwidth comparable with a piezoelectric sensor. The analog voltage output from the ADXL1002 is converted to the 4mA to 20mA signaling standard by using an AD5749 Voltage to Current Converter.
Required Equipment
- EVAL-CN0533-EBZ board
- EVAL-XLMOUNT1 Aluminum Mounting Block
- 4mA to 20mA Receiver (National Instruments NI-9203 or similar)*
- 12V to 24V power supply
- A shaker table or vibration source
- Connectors and cables
*Note that an accurate and temperature stable resistor along with a voltage DAQ system may also be used instead of a current DAQ. The resistance value must be according to the input voltage range of the DAQ.
