Right to Erasure, Art. 17 GDPR
You have the right to demand the immediate erasure of your personal data if one of the reasons mentioned in Art. 17 GDPR applies. However, your right to erasure does not apply to the extent that the processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation or to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

Email a right of erasure request
To process your erasure request, we need to verify your email address. Please enter your email address below and click "Submit."
Once you have entered your email address above, you will receive an email with a link to our identity verification form. Please complete and submit the form. Mouser will then undertake the following:
- Mouser will delete your account (erase your personal data).
- Mouser will remove your data from the marketing database.
- Mouser will only delete your transaction information once the legally required retention period has been met, generally 10 years. Transaction information includes invoices, proof of a purchase, a refund, a Return, a credit note or a payment.
- Mouser will create a note about your deletion request and a record of when your data was deleted from the system.
- Mouser will send you an email to confirm the deletion of your personal data from our systems.
Right of Access (Right to Know), Art. 15 GDPR
You have the right to request confirmation from us as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed. If this is the case, you can request information about this data and further details in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR, particularly about the purposes of the processing, the categories of data processed, the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the data was or will be disclosed, the planned storage period or the criteria for its determination, as well as your other rights related to the processing. You also have the right to receive a copy of the processed personal data.

Mouser will research your request and after verifying your identity, we will send you the following:
- A list of the personal information we have on you.
- A list of all of your transactions stored in our systems.
We want to make sure that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and up to date. If any of the details are incorrect, please let us know and we will update them as necessary.
Right to Rectification, Art. 18 GDPR
You have the right to demand correction of your personal data at any time if your personal data stored with us is incorrect or incomplete.
Right to Data Portability, Art. 20 GDPR
You have the right to receive the personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. You can also demand that this data be directly transferred to another controller. However, this right only applies if:
- The processing is based on your consent or a contract concluded with you, and
- The processing is carried out by automated means.
Right to Object, Art. 21 GDPR
You can object to the processing at any time if the processing of your data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.
Right to Restriction, Art 18, GDPR
You have the right to obtain restriction of the processing undertaken by us on your personal information in certain circumstances, such as, where the accuracy of the personal information is contested by you, for a period of time enabling us to verify the accuracy of that personal information.
Right to Lodge a Complaint, Art. 77 GDPR
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates data protection law.

4.1. International Data Transfer
Since we are based in the United States of America (USA), all information you provide to us will be processed and stored in the United States. Mouser ensures appropriate (adequate) safeguards for all customer data based on internationally recognised data protection standards. Mouser ensures the adequacy of data protection through standard contractual clauses in accordance with Art. 44 46 GDPR.

4.2. Accessing the Website
When you access the website, Mouser processes data necessary to display the website. The following data is automatically transmitted from your browser to our servers:
- IP address
- Browser
- Internet service provider
- Platform type
- Device type
- Operating System
- Date and time stamp
When you access our website with a mobile device, the device identification number is also transmitted to us.
The processing of personal data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Mouser cannot offer the website to users without the data, and there is a legitimate interest in technically enabling access to and use of the website. The data is stored for up to 10 years for inventory traceability purposes and then deleted.
4.3. Cookies and Tracking
At Mouser, we and our external business partners automatically collect certain types of user information when you access our services, visit our web site, read our emails or otherwise interact with us. We typically collect this type of information using various tracking technologies, including cookies, web beacons, embedded scripts, location-based technologies, file information and similar technologies (collectively "tracking technologies").
We sometimes collect analytical data or use third-party analytics tools to help us understand traffic and usage trends to understand the demographics of our users. We may use technologies like statistical modeling tools that enable us to recognise and contact you across different devices. The legal basis for the use of technically necessary cookies is § 25 (2) No. 2 Telecommunications and Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) or Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR to protect our legitimate interests. This is particularly the case in making a user-friendly and technically optimised website available and ensuring the security of the systems. For consent to store and read information, § 25 (1) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR are the relevant legal basis for the processing of personal data.
If we use cookies based on consent, you can withdraw this consent at any time via the cookie settings in the Cookie Policy. The withdrawal applies to the future, and the lawfulness of the processing up to the withdrawal remains unaffected.
4.4. Using Our Services
When you register on our website, use our Services or purchase products from us, we process the following personal data:
- Your name,
- Your profile information,
- Delivery and billing address,
- Payment information,
- Email address,
- Phone number (if provided), and
- Company name.
When you create a user account, you will be prompted to set a username and password. Mouser stores your username and password (in encrypted format) in our secure environment and uses your information solely to welcome you on your next visit and to tailor your experience.
The following information is then stored in your user account:
- Specified shipment and billing address,
- Products and other information contained in your shopping cart, Project, bill of materials, or order history.
The legal basis for processing your personal data is Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (contract performance). We will store personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the business purposes fully outlined in this policy, in accordance with our legal obligations and the performance of contracts. In general, transactional records are deleted after statutory retention requirements have been met (a transactional record is the record of a purchase, invoice, refund, return, credit or payment).
4.5. Contacting and Other Interactions with Mouser
When you contact us or whenever Mouser contacts you, or whenever you participate in a Mouser promotion, contest or survey, or whenever you post something about us on social media or interact with us through social media, we collect the following information:
- Personal data you provide to us whenever you contact us, such as name and contact details, phone number, and email address.
- Details of the email and other digital communications, including any links contained therein that you access and whether you opened the communication.
- Email headers, source IP information, server hostname and ISP information.
- Your feedback and contributions to customer surveys.
Which information you provide is up to you. The legal basis for processing your personal data when contacting us is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and interacting with customers or prospects. The data will be deleted if it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected, provided that no legal retention periods prevents deletion.
4.6. Orders, Purchases, Online Services, Local Services, and Personalized Services
We process your data to fulfill contracts and provide and execute additional Services requested by you. The main purposes are: provision, personalization, and needs-based design of our Services, including websites, apps and cross-device and cross-platform functions; handling of purchase contracts and customer service issues, including payment processing, and handling returns, complaints, and warranty claims; non-promotional communication with you on technical, security, and contractually relevant topics (e.g., fraud alerts, account suspension or product recalls); communication of transaction information to third parties to comply with regulations. For this, we process in particular:
- Name
- Address
- Payment details
- Order information
- Other contact information provided by you
Mouser does not store credit card numbers. Your credit card details are translated into tokens during initial processing. If you choose to save a credit card for future purchases, only the encrypted token is stored and used to charge your credit card account. Mouser uses technologies to detect and remove credit card information transmitted through unauthorized channels by email or fax, and Mouser works with regional payment processors worldwide. External payment processors (WeChat, Alipay, PayPal, etc.) process payment information on their respective websites and under their responsibility.
The legal basis for processing is to fulfill contracts and provide and execute additional Services requested by you is Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (contract performance), for transmitting information to manufacturers to ensure compliance with legal obligations, Art. 6 (1) lit. c GDPR is the relevant legal basis. Mouser deletes the data once it is no longer required to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, provided that no legal retention periods prevent deletion.
4.7. Improving the Shopping Experience
Mouser uses data to improve the shopping experience. Mouser's e-commerce site includes millions of products and hundreds of brands. Therefore, it is necessary to present content and offers tailored to your needs so that you can find products that interest you or that meet your technical needs.
Mouser uses cookies to store access data for user analysis. We also use data from advertising partners when you visit Mouser. If you are logged into a customer account, we use profile data, interest data, and purchase data to personalise your shopping experience. This personalisation allows Mouser to present you with relevant Search results, product recommendations, technical recommendations and other content that matches your interests.
The legal basis for processing your data for this purpose is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR, our legitimate interest in improving the shopping experience. The processed data will be deleted if they are no longer required for the stated purposes and no legal retention periods prevent deletion.
4.8. Fraud Prevention
Mouser uses collected data to verify identity and protect against fraud and potential security issues. This applies to both orders and the registration of a user account. Mouser uses encryption and security technologies to protect our network and data. In addition, we implement technical and organisational measures to secure our systems against loss, destruction, unauthorised access or the dissemination of customer data by unauthorised persons. Protection of personal data is our top priority. Performance of a contract (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR), Security of processing (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c in conjunction with Art. 32 GDPR), and Fraud Prevention (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) are the legal bases.
4.9. Credit Check
Mouser uses provided data and credit data from external credit agencies in the form of score values to establish a credit limit. Score values are statistically justified estimates of a person‘s future default risk, represented as a numerical value. Depending on the result of the credit check, i.e. whether it is positive or negative, we will show you suitable payment methods with which you can use to complete your purchase. The legal basis for the credit check described above is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. B GDPR, as it is necessary for the implementation of required pre-contractual measures. Based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. F GDPR, the legitimate interest of third parties and ours, the processing of personal data is based on the prevention of payment defaults, the detection and prevention of fraud, and the clarification of criminal offenses.
4.10. Advertising, Market Research and Data Analytics
Mouser processes personal data, including in the context of data analysis, for advertising and market research, particularly for the following purposes:
- Classifying users into different target and user groups within the framework of market research (user segmentation).
- Gaining insights into various target groups and their respective user habits and shopping interests.
- Gaining insights into demographics, interests, shopping and user habits of our users, and marketing these insights within the framework of advertising services to third parties.
- Early detection of trends in the areas of technology and online shopping,
- Conducting advertising for existing accounts.
- Conducting direct marketing, e.g., in the form of newsletters.
- Planning, executing and measuring the success of advertising that corresponds to the interests of the target groups.
- Gaining insights into the use of our Services (usage analysis).
The legal basis for processing personal data for the above-mentioned purposes is your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
4.11. Product and Technology Development
Mouser uses your data for product and technology development, including the development and improvement of personalised Services. We use aggregated, pseudonymised or anonymised data and machine learning algorithms for analysis in the interest of our users. Data processed in connection with product and technology development is used for the following purposes in particular:
- The development and improvement of personalised Services and technologies for data analysis, advertising and more relevant product searches.
- The development of technologies and concepts to improve IT security, fraud prevention and data protection, e.g., through pseudonymisation, encryption, and anonymisation technologies.
The legal basis for processing your data for the purposes of product and technological development is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, with the legitimate interests particularly lying in the improvement of IT security and data protection.
4.12. Corporate Management and Business Optimisation
Mouser transmits and processes data necessary for administrative and logistical processes. The processing of data for corporate management and business optimisation also enables an improvement in customer service as well as security and fraud protection. At no time does Mouser sell customer data.
Mouser may share transaction information from our "Point-of-Sale" systems (short "POS systems", the information is also called "POS information") with the respective manufacturer for market research purposes, for commission payments to the sales staff of the respective manufacturer, or to comply with legal regulatory, security, or contractual obligations. Mouser, TTI, Inc., the TTI Family of Specialist companies, the manufacturer, or the manufacturer's representatives may use POS information to provide the user with important information, contact them regarding potential design activities, or to comply with legal regulatory, security or contractual obligations.
The legal basis for the purposes of corporate management and business optimisation is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If personal data is processed due to legal requirements, e.g., tax retention obligations and money laundering tests, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR. The corresponding data will be deleted after the purpose has been achieved, provided that no legal retention periods prevents deletion.
4.13. Other Processing Activities based on Your Consent
If you have given Mouser your consent to process personal data, this constitutes the legal basis for processing in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR.
This includes the following processing activities:
- Subscription to a newsletter
- Participation in surveys and market research services
- Documentation to support customer service
- Conducting credit checks, provided these are not required for contract fulfilment.
The processed data will be deleted after the consent is revoked. The revocation does not affect the lawfulness of the processing up to the point of revocation.
4.14. Marketing and Market Research
Mouser provides you with information about relevant news, offers and surveys regarding our products and Services through various channels. This includes marketing emails, but only if you have previously consented to receive such marketing communications. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and your consent. You can change your email settings on our website or by contacting Mouser customer service.
It is important to us that you are aware of your options when it comes to how we may use your personal data. Depending on how you manage your information, these options include:
- Profile settings and data sharing preferences: You can update your username and password, and you can change your data sharing preferences.
- Control over your communication preferences: You can stop receiving our promotional emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link included in our communications to you.
- Modification or deletion of your information: If you have questions about reviewing, modifying or deleting your data, you can contact us directly at DPO@mouser.com.
Anti-Discrimination: Mouser provides the same Services to all customers. Exercising your data protection rights does not change our Services to you as our customer (CCPA Cal. Civ. Codes § 1,798.125).
Sale of Customer Data: You can trust that your data is safe and secure with us. Mouser does not sell customer data. Mouser does not share or sell mailing lists, marketing lists or customer lists. Mouser values your privacy and uses your data only to fulfill orders and provide the first-class customer service you can expect (CCPA Cal. Civ. Code §§ 1798,120 and 1798.135(a)-(b)).
Marketing Campaign Subscriptions: Mouser collaborates with third-party providers who have their own customer databases. If you find yourself in one of these provider databases, your information was not provided to the provider by Mouser. Mouser only provides these providers with marketing materials, which they then forward to their customer base. If you receive such emails, be sure to check their URL to determine the exact origin of this marketing material.
If you unsubscribe from email notifications, your information will be removed from Mouser's databases.
Mouser does not provide third-party providers with a directory of Mouser customers; furthermore, Mouser does not own any rights to third-party databases, so Mouser cannot request the removal of your data from their databases. Please contact the respective third-party provider directly to unsubscribe.
5.1. Online Advertising
Interest-Based Advertising.
We participate in interest-based advertising and use external advertising agencies to provide you with targeted advertising based on your browsing habits. Usually, but not always, the information we share is collected through cookies or similar tracking technologies. Cookies and tracking technologies can recognise the device you are using and collect information, including clickstream analysis, browser type, the time and date of your visit to the website, and other information. Our external partners use this information to tailor the advertising you see online more closely to your interests and to offer advertising-related Services such as evaluation, attribution, analytics and market research.
Social Media Widgets and Advertising.
Our website may include social media features, such as the Facebook "Like" button, or widgets from LinkedIn Snapchat Instagram Twitter, etc. These social media providers may recognise you and collect information about your visit to our website, and they may set a cookie or use other tracking technologies. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policies of those companies.
We show you targeted advertising through social media platforms, such as Facebook Twitter, etc. These companies have interest-based advertising programs that allow us to target users who have shown interest in our Services directly while they are on these social media platforms, as well as groups of other users who share similar characteristics. These advertisements are subject to the privacy policies of those social media providers that offer them.
Linking Across Devices
We or our third-party partners may link your various devices together so that content you view on one device can lead to relevant advertising on another device. We achieve this by collecting information about each device you use to log in to our website. This allows us to offer interest-based advertising or otherwise personalised content across all your devices, conduct analytics and determine the performance of our advertising campaigns.

5.2. Third Party Analytics
Google Analytics.
We use Google Analytics to recognise you and link the devices you use when you visit our website (in your browser or on your mobile device), sign in to your account or otherwise engage with us. Google Analytics enables us to understand how you interact with our website and tailor our advertising and content to you.

FullStory, Inc.
We use FullStory Inc. for the purpose of gathering analytical data so we can further improve your experience as you use our website. This includes pages visited, links clicked, non-sensitive text entered, and mouse movements, as well as information more commonly collected such as the referring URL, browser, operating system and Internet Protocol (“IP”) address. This data is kept in cloud storage that is updated with AES 256 bit encryption or stronger. We do not track, store or capture any other personally identifiable information (PII), including name, address, log in and financial information. The legal basis for the collection of analytics data is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, provided that the processing is based on legitimate interests. For the use of cookies and tracking technologies, please refer to section 4.3.
We do not knowingly collect information from children and young people under the age of 16 and do not ask them to provide us with information. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child or young person under the age of 16, we will delete such information. If you believe that we might have any information from a child or young person under the age of 16 in our systems, please contact us at DPO@mouser.com.
Our Services may contain links to and from third party websites that are directly related to our business partners, advertisers and social media sites. In addition, our users may post links to third-party websites. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies or websites.
